If you are in the beginning process of planning a wedding, you’re probably doing lots of research about wedding venues. There are so many Salt Lake County venue options, so I’ve written this blog post all about the newly renovated Magnolia Event Center in South Jordan! Magnolia Event Center is an absolutely STUNNING wedding venue with beautiful indoor and outdoor options, and I’m here to tell you why it should definitely be at the top of your list of possible wedding venues.
Bonus: If you’re still looking for a photographer for your wedding, I would love to work with you! Send me a message on my contact form and we can start chatting!
I grew up driving past this wedding venue and once I became a wedding photographer, I always dreamed of shooting a wedding here. It came under new ownership and got a new look in early 2024 and is now a beautiful, modern, luxurious space that is perfect for almost any type of wedding. Its open floor plan has so much space for ceremony setups, reception tables, dancing, etc., not to mention the large outdoor portion of the venue. Outside there is a large patio that can have even more seating, grassy areas for yard games, and another beautiful area for a ceremony right next to a waterfall. I appreciate venues that have the outdoor and indoor spaces, because then there is a backup option in case of bad weather.
Let’s take a look at a few of the features inside the venue.
We will start with the bride’s room and the groom’s room upstairs. The bride’s room features a long wall of mirrors and getting ready chairs, with lots of seating and space for the whole wedding party. There is a bathroom, lighting, and my favorite feature: a 90 degree mirror that’s perfect for making sure you look your best before heading out to your ceremony and festivities.
The groom’s room is a large room, also great for the whole wedding party, with seating and a ping pong table and a TV. Such a fun feature! There is also a bathroom for the groomsmen out in the hallway.
From the getting ready rooms we head down a beautiful staircase, which can be used as part of the ceremony and have the wedding party enter the ceremony space from the stairs. In the right grand room, there are huge windows on all of the walls, a self-playing grand piano, and enough room for a ceremony setup.
Next, we’ll head back to the entry way. The double doors lead into a large entry way with a fireplace straight ahead. You can go into the right grand room (where the ceremony is set up in these photos), or around the fireplace to the middle grand room and to the right where tables and chairs are set up for the luncheon, dinner, and reception portion of the wedding day. Right behind the fireplace is the middle grand room. This is a great area to keep partially free of tables for dancing. It also has double doors that lead out to the backyard.
The right grand room is great for serving food since it’s very close to the kitchen. It also has some beautiful windows and plenty of room for more seating.
The backyard of Magnolia Event Center is a lovely evening wedding space because the venue itself provides a lot of shade, but there are also plenty of trees to give it privacy and more shade during summer months. When I look at venues, my favorites are always the venues that have an indoor space and outdoor space that come with your reservation. Utah weather is never as straightforward as we hope it is, especially in the spring and summer, so sometimes an outdoor reception might have to be moved indoors because of rain or heat. But, if the weather holds, Magnolia’s backyard space is absolutely STUNNING. There is so much room for mingling, for a ceremony, and additional seating for dinner or the reception.
One of my favorite features is the balcony! Imagine with me for a moment: dance pictures from above?? Yes please. Bouquet and/or garter toss to your bridal party down below?? 100% yes. Dress reveal with your bridesmaids?? Say less! Dramatic bridal photos?? Duh!! You could even do a first look, pictures with your family before the ceremony, the possibilities are endless! I’m such a fan of balconies. It is right off the brides room, so bonus because you can open the doors to get some fresh air as you’re getting ready!
My experience working with the owners at Magnolia Event Center was really great. They are professional, super nice, and really great at communication. I had a great experience with them, as well as the other vendors on their preferred vendors list that worked the events I was at! They are so easy to work with and I hope to be able to work with them again soon!
I would absolutely LOVE to shoot another wedding here! If you’re still looking for a photographer/videographer, my style and Magnolia Event Center go very well together 😉 I would love to chat with you about your plans! You can head over to my contact form and get in touch with me there! Happy planning!
Quick shoutout to the lovely vendors I worked with that you see in all of these beautiful photos! I loved working with all of them and highly recommend each of them if you’re missing any of your wedding vendors!
